Nobu (Nobuko Muth)

⚫︎ Certified Advanced Rolfing practitioner

⚫︎ Certified Rolf Movement practitioner

⚫︎ Somatic Experience practitioner

⚫︎ Certified Rolfing Instructor (Phase 1, 2 and 3) at Dr. Ida Rolf Institute, Faculty member

In my late 20s, I became ill due to overwork. As I sought to recover, I explored various therapies from both Eastern and Western traditions. That journey led me to Rolfing® Structural Integration. Through the 10-session process, I gradually regained a sense of myself, and my once-stiff body found calmness and balance.

This transformative experience inspired me to make Rolfing my lifelong career—to support the health of working women and help more women alleviate discomfort and lead active, fulfilling lives. In 2000, I became certified in Rolfing at The Rolf Institute (now the Dr. Ida Rolf Institute) in Boulder, Colorado, and in 2003, I obtained certification as a Rolf Movement Practitioner. I ran a Rolfing studio in Tokyo, providing individual sessions to over 1,000 clients while teaching movement classes at a community school for about 10 years. During this time, I shared the wonders of Rolfing with people in Japan through magazines, TV, and radio.

In 2012, I moved to Boulder, Colorado—the home of Rolfing—and began offering private sessions at my studio, Life Harmony Boulder. I also pursued further training at the Dr. Ida Rolf Institute, and in 2021, I became the first Japanese person to obtain a Rolfing teaching qualification. Today, I continue to offer both private sessions and classes.

I believe it is never too late to regain health, and I trust in the resilience of the people I meet. The body always seeks balance, and pain or discomfort is a message that something needs to change. What is preventing that change? How can we support it? I am committed to helping you rediscover your health and well-being by guiding you through this process.

Professional Skills

Nobu was first introduced to Rolfing while studying alternative medicine in the late 1990s. She received her Rolfing certification from the Rolf Institute of Structural Integration (now the Dr. Ida Rolf Institute) in 2000 after training in Boulder, Colorado. 24 years of extensive clinical experience have honed her hands-on skills and body reading accuracy. She offers sessions that lead to solid changes in the body through her hands-on skills and accurate body readings honed by 24 years of clinical experience.

Her sessions are based on her gentle yet deeply transformative style of work. She is known for combining craniosacral work (osteopathy), which works with the body's hydraulic system, and Rolf Movement, which approaches perception, to restore optimal body balance for her clients.

She has also continued her studies in Somatic Psychology and is knowledgeable in trauma care, having studied Bodynamics since 2005 and Somatic Experience since 2013. She helps clients expand their resources by approaching mental health issues through touch.

  • Craniosacral Biodynamics,

1996 to present

I studied Craniosacral practice under Jim Asher, Tom Shaver, D.O. and James Jealous, D.O. I designed special treatments for children with learning disabilities, cerebral palsy and spinocerebellar degeneration (SCD) using these procedures.

After the recent tsunami and earthquake disaster(2011), I was able to help many people reduce tension and anxiety while potentially improving sleep quality.

  • Visceral Manipulation (Digestive, Urinary, Respiratory)

I usually include this in my Rolfing session as needed. Some doctors refer post-surgery clients to me.

  • Pre-Natal Massage and Postpartum Body Care

I worked at maternity hospital for about two years taking care of women's pre/post birth physical needs using Rolfing, Craniosacral and Bodynamics techniques as needed.

  • Energy Therapies(Energetic Osteopathy, Esoteric Healing and Source Point)

At the start of a session, I always take time to sense and connect with the client's energy field and reach toward their centers and to understand their needs.
